In the mean time I have built my own "Nauka" and also "Prichal"...It's seem to be not exaktly the original, but I've take me my "artist freedom"
The "Nauka"-basic based on the "Zarya"-model of Alfonso, all other is selfmade seen by the App "ISS-Explorer" available for Android and I-pad. |

Here's a complete Zarya module in a box, both completed about 2 years ago. The box came in handy as the model is currently still packed away, awaiting available time for me to continue building paper models.
I may unpack Zarya and take photos of only the model sooner or later

Hi guys. I haven’t been following this thread and I can tell I have missed so much going on here. Wow. Amazing stuff you guys have done onto the ISS model. As a matter of fact if you have been following on Twitter, I’m days away to release the Nauka model. Which, by the way Michael has done a tremendous job on it already. The only thing stopping me from releasing it was the ERA arm. I was planning to make all joints movable but because of how small it is, it’s not that easy to do it. I can see from Michael’s photos the way he designed his version, so I’ll do the same. Michael, are you there? Your approach with the arm joints is doable. Sometimes I have to think out of the box and look for simplicity.
Prichal will follow. Last edited by axm61; 05-08-2023 at 12:17 PM. |

Hi again. Here are some photos of Nauka’s robotic arm that I just started. I think it’s the time to share it with you all and what to expect of this model. This is a 1:100 scale and I used online photos and diagrams. It’s pretty accurate. The hardest part are the joints because of their tiny size it requires a lot of patience to work on them. I guess by looking at what Michael did with his arm version, this was doable. Between tonight and tomorrow I might be finishing it. These photos are from my prototype, so the final product will look much cleaner with more details drawn on it.

Alright, the ERA arm is done. All the joints move like the real one.
