Happy birthday to this excellent thread! It's one that I check frequently.
I want to go see Discovery lift off for the last time. Definitely a sad moment but also fitting that she should be the one to fly the last shuttle mission. |

Ten new photos of SSRMS
I've uploaded ten new photos of my work on the SSRMS and its docking system.
Index of /iss-paper-model I had a disaster with one of the joints: some of them were a little loose, so I used glue to build up the exterior of the interior joint part. This worked fine for all except one socket, which when inserted stuck absolutely fast and would not budge, requiring about 4 hours of destroy-and-rebuild. I hate that. I've learned a lot on this SSRMS build, and I now feel confident to tackle the Kibo robot arm and the Shuttle arm also. I have been putting these off for a while now. But I think I will complete the JEF first, as I am royally sick and tired of rolling and cutting tubes to fit within one another snugly. I have completed the first (of several) SSRMS grapple points to be mounted in/on the various modules so the arm can be moved from place to place on the model. It seems to work just fine. I hope you all are enjoying your papercraft, I know I am! Cheers, Mobius/Chris |

Yep. I just can't see the international partners allowing the US to deorbit our baby in 2016. I'm prepared to put good money on it. Plus, I won't have the 20 mill I need for a trip until after 2016!

Hi to all!!!
First of all, I want to apologize for the lack of activity in our humble forum, my pilot training is really eating a lot of my time, but I'll be done in a few days, once I get back home I'll start cutting again!!! Wow... I can't believe its been a whole year already... from which so many jaw dropping builds have appreared... hats off to you guys!!! Sir Gerardo, many thanks for the reminders!!! I can't believe its already a year ago!!! Aaron, many thanks for updating all of us with sir Alfonso's stunning project!!! Keep us posted buddy!!! Sir Alfonso, I'll be sending you an e-mail later!!! Next time, I'll also post my pictures during my flight training in the appropriate thread, and I'll updated the ISS model I have here also... its still in post STS-100 configuration... I can't move on to STS-104 since I haven't made the display stand to accommodate Shuttle Atlantis (from which the Airlock and its tidbits are already sitting, awaiting "launch" ) Thanks guys!!! Cheers to all!!! And really nice to see everyone here from the previous forum!!! |

Hi to all,
Great to see the old guys and new ones here at this forum. A special thanks to Hans who started it all. I think I'm getting close to complete this ISS model very soon. I'm on vacation at this time but soon I'll resume completing the truss with the addition of the 115 and 117 missions which brought the S3S4 and P3P4 segments. Then immediately after that, missions 116 and 118. The AXM russian segment will follow. Keep posting more photos. It's great to see also modifications being made to this model. I think anytime between Sep and Oct (of this year)the AXM ISS model will be at par with the current configuration. Take care, |
