Hi jparenti, It's not necessary (or desirable, I think) to glue all the parts together. This tends to create a gigantic model which is hard to move and work on, and which is prone to damage before final mounting (somewhere?).

I have used very small but powerful magnets, secured with super-strength Araldite to hold the small components onto the larger sections. This works well in my view, because the small bits can be removed to allow for repairs and to prevent damage.

Check out my the pics of my work at Index of /iss-paper-model

Sadly, the site is down at time of posting due to me failing to renew my domain name in a timely fashion, but I have now paid the bill and the site should be back up shortly.

Hi again,

Another update. Here are some views of the Russian segment with the addition of the Zvezda Servicing Module.
Look at the first photo. Has a detail that is key to the rest of the Russian modules. See it?
The photos show the 1:100 model. I still have to build the 1:144 versions to check if the resized parts will fit.
Couple of more days and I'll include the MRM-1, PIRS and POISK, too.

Did I say that Zarya and Zvezda are free?
BTW, Zarya and Zvezda are specially connected that keeps them straight in line with Unity!

Alfonso

The Russian modules look fantastic Alfonso! Holy Moly - now I am *almost* tempted to rebuild mine....

I notice the panels on Zarya drooping a little in these shots. It's easy to avoid this if you use an additional two layers in the panels and to press them strongly in a clamp or under a large pile of magazines. I also use a roller to expel all the glue before pressing. And I make sure I wrap the part in Gladwrap (I think you guys call it Cerran Wrap?) before pressing, so it doesn't stick to the stuff holding it down. On my Russian segment I whittled a piece of bamboo/cane to act as the axle of the solar panels.

Good to have you back Hans, I bet you didn't think this would go to 36 pages and 18,000 hits.
