Nice work Mobius. What scale are you building at, looks big on your cutting map. Nice camera work, very clear.

Thanks Paul! It's straight 1:100. My Camera has a Macro and a Super-Macro setting. I can focus down to about 1cm from the lens. The problem is, it shows far more detail than I can possibly see through my glasses.
@PaperKosmonaut. That is the exact thing I tried to do with my original Kibo module. I failed miserably. It is incredibly difficult to get the diameter right, and unless you roll perfectly, and have some sort of magic glue, and about 38 magic fingers all the same size as a new born babies, I can't see how it's possible to get a good finish with no ridge showing and with the thing still spherical. I guess each of us has their own strengths and weaknesses when it comes to these models, and one thing I am absolutely useless at is trying to fit a tube inside another tube. The Kibo I built here is in fact Alfonso's new version of the module, at the correct scale. He has totally rebuilt the module so it is now 44mm diameter, and the parts are much better resolution than the original too. He is going to release the new version in the next day or so I think. So if you are planning on doing Kibo - wait a could of days.

Hi to all,
I'm back after a long hiatus. Between my job and family, there has been little time for me to work on the models, but now I think I'm getting closer to complete the ISS. Here's some preview photos of what I've been working on, specially DEXTRE. The photo shows the 1:100 version with almost fully articulated arms. Designing the arms was very important in order to complete the ELC-3 (STS-134), because this pallet carries one spare arm for DEXTRE. The ELC-3 is finished and now I'm working on the AMS-2. A little more patience, please. The models will be released soon. Take care, Alfonso |

Wow Alfonso, that looks great! I love the detailing on it. Perhaps a bit hard to try in 1/400 though.. (-;
@Dyna Soar: Now that is a beautiful steady picture. And the colour of the sky is also great! I am still waiting for an opportunity to see the ISS come flying over. Mostly when it happens it's too low for me to see and when it flies over higher it always seem to have to be during overcasts. |

My Model
On my last trip back to Ireland I gave my 1/35 model of the ISS to a local Observatory (WWW.BCO.IE) as I was not going to be able to transport it to Scotland.
They installed a temporary hook and I wired it up with adjustable tensioners to allow me get it as balanced and straight as I could. They are installing a permanent hook for it and will attach it themselves. I continue to build and post modules for installation along the way. I had to locate the ESP's in wrong positions as I could not get correct clearence. I am delighted to finally see it fully set out. Really is an International Space Station, Designed in Florida, Built in Cork, Annapolis, NYC, Washington, Edinburgh. |

Excellent as always! Certainly no hurry here, take your time. Do you have any plans as to what you're going to work on after ISS?
