Good afternoon First of all, thank you for praising Michael Again, I built a little. Today's topic Kvant 1 retractable solar panel. The construction of the "accordion design" of interest. The bi-directional inverter in space with zero gravity, form a plane, but here on earth under the beam should be designed. The bi-directional drive can only be imagined with paper thin. Print 80 "g / m² paper. The long thin copper conductor. He finished the Spektr solar panels as well. Now here I am. Soon will start the "Příroda" Good job everyone Merzo |

What can I say, Zoltan? awesome! "Spektr"/Oktant in its original state looks wonderful. Good job with the painting of the military top part of "Spektr"/Oktant . It looks much more realistic. Also, very nice work on the Kvant solar panels.

Well pretty good day Russian space shuttle would do a short story. The "Buran" everyone knows. Shooting. Automatic flight, landing! Great results, but the "Buran" Technology Demonstrator was just. Human travel conditions were not provided. The actual flight to the third-built plain 2.01 "Baikal" was designed "Shuttle 2.01 (Baikal) was the third vehicle of the Soviet space shuttle Buran program, serial number 11F35 K3. 2:01's construction was not complete When the Buran program was ended (30-50 percent done), so it Remains Unfinished." (Shuttle 2.01 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) The flight had joined the space station "Programs for the second test flight of 7 days provided the automatic docking and space station" Mir "(a production module" Kristall "equipped with a special docking-new), and the joint five-day mission during which the crew of the station was to "Baikal" and conduct comprehensive inspections of all spacecraft systems, including airborne remote manipulator experiments. "(Ïîëåò Áàéêàëà) Our plans for the alternate reality of my station Mir 2.01 "Baikal" will join. The design basis from the excellent BURAN model designed by our friend Leo. I changed the inscription on it.Leo I hope you do not mind that I used to really work. I developed and built the frame of the cargo space. I was looking for plans for how it would look when completed. I managed to find a very detailed 3D model(3D-ìîäåëè) Anyone who is interested in the links model. http :/ / 3D Buran - YouTube The bay view of the Fortezza Scale model. (Sorry Raimondo) Was difficult to build up between the two models Because the image is open cargo compartment doors, doors made. The heat sink has been open just a bonus. Author of the manipulator arm, and soon the air lock. Laboratory space is not constructive. What would have taken their own space station.! Resuming Soon greeting MERZO |

Great! Now that is truly amazing craftsmanship, again, Zoltan. The Baikal looks very good. I always find it amazing how much detail you see and add.
I especially like the payload bay the doors in this particular case. very well done. It must have been quite some task to measure out all the insides of the payload bay. It looks good anyway. Also it's a good thing you made it Baikal instead of Buran herself. Just to keep it away from becoming "ordinary". I guess it is time I also pick up where I left! (-; |

Here's just a tiny update on where I am, to show I still am in the process of building, too. I am taking it slow at this time, there luckily are lots of other projects to keep me bothered. (-;
In a few days there will be lots of filming again for the documentary I am working on. For now here's the work I did on Atlantis. I made the OMS pods and reinforced and improved the docking module in the payload bay. For the OMS pods I didn't use any glue tabs, I just edge glued all parts together. If I had used the tabs, it would not have been as flush as this, because of the thickness of the paper I always use. |

Hi Jasper Yes using the adhesive tabs for all small parts in question. The result is always better to glue the edge of the paper. You can also use acrylic cian small parts? Congrats Merzo |

Sometimes CA is necessary, especially with stubborn parts that won't keep in place. Then I do a little point weld here and there and then, after setting, I often add some white glue to strengthen the bond. In this occasion I didn't need CA, just plain white glue. It dries quickly enough, and I just need to hold it for a couple of seconds.
For the "petals" of the docking collar, I actually did use some CA. |
