Maybe, but you have waaaaaay more patience than I do with those tiny handmade parts!

Maybe, if you think so.
Abundance of patience one must have and never lose, in particular, in order to cope with failures because also then one must never give up. But this is first and foremost a question of the own will, and last not least - also patience can be exercised. And that is, in my opinion, the decisive factor.

Hello guys,
before I go on with the next Water Bags, I have made a test arrangement with the Shuttle stack on the MLP to look at the space conditions in the front part of the shaft (Primary SRB Hole), in which then the shorter bags have to be mounted around the SRB. The lineup of the stack was, of course, again a shaky affair, which had to be carried out with the utmost caution in order to avoid fatal crashes. And after this overall impression I put the stack aside and have only placed the support posts upright, in order to get a better view for the further consideration. And so that the support posts cannot always slip away, I have made a small template of the SRB Aft Skirt. And after this detailed view, I then scratched the next two bags, the wider front bag of which is sitting between the two 18'' outlets. And these two fit well so far already to the previous bags, wherewith the Secondary SRB Hole would be covered up. So far again for today.

The amount of detail you are including in this project boggles the mind Manfred. How long have you been working on the SWS system now? It has to be well over a year. Two years maybe? Becky's right, your patience and affinity for detail is becoming legendary. Kudos to you!

Thanks elliott for your nice words.
You're right, my friends, that's bordering on modeling madness. The SSWS chapter is very comprehensive and complicated, starting with the lots of Pipe supports, the endless bending of the Ring lines and their tricky outlets to the lovely Rainbirds, crazy Clamping rings and now the Water bags ... All in all, this now takes about 2 years already.

Seeing that familiar shape in its natural spot... gave me a strong emotion.
As you can understand every "shuttle matter" involve me deeply! Your mission is EPIC and I regret not having discovered it from the beginning so to live all the birth of this wonderful piece of art together with you and all the friends here around. I'll follow every new step with great emotion like today when I saw that shuttle draft on the launch pad and my heart skipped a beat! Great Manfred! |

Thanks Tonino for your great enthusiasm.
Yeah, these pictures also give me new strength again and again to hold on tight to my dream and not give up, even if it is not always easy. My project is meanwhile indeed a long story with many ups and downs, when I only think of the horrible emergency surgeries, which my poor MLP has already had to weather ... I don't know if you have seen these dark pages of my Report ... when it looked like this ... It was an awful nightmare in those days, but unfortunately not the last, but let's drop this matter, meanwhile it looks better and the sun is shining ... Thanks for looking and stay tuned.

Hello everybody,
and with the clear-sightedness template, the perspective is naturally even better. So then let's go on with the two short middle Water bags in the front shaft section right in front of the SRB, as can be seen in this picture from the STS-2. Source: NASA And here we go with these two bags in "handbag format", which are made quickly. And they fit well into the gap between the SRB Supports, and thus also between the MLP Support Posts. The same two bags sit directly in front of the front shaft wall and have their turn now. And so slowly the Primary SRB Hole fills up. Tomorrow the two side Water Bags will be added.
