1:144 Apollo Launch Complex

Here I go again...so I'm building the 1:144 EduCraftDiversions LUT. I am also going to mount the Revell Saturn V on it. I will be making numerous upgrades to the ML and LUT throughout. I have started by cutting out the skins. Next I will build the internal supports out of balsa wood.

Thanks SAustin.

I made some pretty substantial progress today. I completed the exterior skin of the ML and I also started building the interior structure out of balsa wood. On addition, the blast chamber has been assembled. In the coming days I will finished the wooden supports and begin painting and installing the vertical girders that surround the ML and line the blast chamber.

Nice clean build. You're doing a great job.

As a kid in the 1960's, I followed all of the original Apollo pads and structures being built via my Dad's magazines (Av Week especially). It fascinates me to this day. Your model brings back great memories of a time when nothing could stop us and our bold space program.

Thanks a lot for your complements. I really appreciate it. I have done some nice detailing work on the MLP-I will post pictures in a little while.

Alright here the pictures of the detailing I have done on the sides of the ML. I still have to finish Side 2 and start Side 1. After that I will do the same for the lining of the blast chamber.

Is this the paper kit that was sold on eBay? I have one, but misplaced the little CD that came with it. If this is the same and you'd be willing to email the files on the CD to me, I'd appreciate it! Thanks!

Yes. They came on a mini-CD. I put it somewhere for safekeeping.
