I think that there maybe a way to get them to cease. My attorney said you just have to find the right official to embarrass. I will make this a come to Jesus moment if I can.
Update later as I marked earlier. |

ronin...wow...you managed to rack up a huge 9 posts with all that.
Soon you'll be a "senior" member making coherent posts. LOL I suggest you calm down...reread the various posts...look into my topics here... and realize you you not only got this all wrong, misread the comments, and don't have all the facts but you generally said something stupid to the one person on this forum who might have been your biggest supporter. LOL

Unnecessary discussion, unnecessary effort, unnecessary struggle.
There is only one way to fight pirates - distribute free models! If I look for a model and only find it on a pirate site, I probably pay for it even if I don't like it. Unfortunately, it is not available elsewhere. Or I'll search for a model and Google will offer me dozens of pages. On one, pirates will want money for it, on the other modelers will offer it in free version. Which one do I choose? I think the answer is clear! And if all the authors do it in cooperation with modelers, in a few months the pirate will have nothing to sell, because it will not be interested in its sale. This is a way to fight them! |

pay or free has absolutely nothing to do with fighting piracy.
Many designers share their models freely but want to control where, when and how they are distributed. Thats their right. In some cases, they distribute free models but make revenue from site traffic and visitors in other ways. When someone copies and redistributes their model, they are "stealing" traffic and other potential rewards from the designer. Some "pirates" want to steal the attention and rewards of distributing models that are not theirs. In this case we are talking about alicemodels who grab whatever kits they can, free or retail, and sell them as printed kits without any permissions. They are not controlled by retail kits. Uhu's models are a prime example...these have always been completely free and only available as digital downloads. And yet, hes probably the most pirated designer ever. And unfortunately...Alicemodel's biggest sellers up to now.

My attorney has contacted the Department of Commerce (DOC). There will be a investigation into the violation of copyright violations. Paypal has also contacted him back after he reached out to them. Paypal will be contacting Alibaba Cloud Computing (Beijing) Co., Ltd. about modelalice.com and will communicate back to him on the findings within (2) days. The (DOC) wants a list of those who have had their work misappropriated. Please let me know if you want to be on that list.
Have a great day! |

But I like your style. LOL Unfortunately this is one of the problems that hampers efforts to go after pirates. The fact that many model designers don't want to do anything, don't want to rock the boat and won't help fight for the collective rights of designers and authors. Some authors feel a sense of importance when their work is pirated, but for others, its a much bigger deal. If one of my models was available at alice, I would be begging for my name to be added to your list. Luckily for me, they haven't bothered with any of my kits...yet? But that doesn't mean I wouldn't put my name behind it. This brings me back to my original criticisms of Uhu and his models. Contrary to what many zealots claim, I have high respect and praise for Uhu's models and have fought against those who have pirated his kits. I just criticised his methods to combat piracy (as being ineffective). I think he needed to pursue better actions, against those who stole from him. But when the author himself won't work with you, what else can you do?

I am very serious. I will not let this go. I have had many issues in the past with the chi-coms and the Germans violating my patents. I have (39) for patents that are not germane to this forum. I take theft very seriously and my attorney is a well seasoned warrior. I got even more upset when I search over there and found Gary Pilsworth, Ton, and a few others I know had been abused also. The chi-coms think they can steal and re purpose intellectual property without recourse. That is a big mistake. I may not win but I can hurt LOL. Anyone who wishes to be a party to my endeavor may sign on. I think a line in the sand must be drawn and I have the stick to do it. Sometimes my comments come across as tongue in cheek, but this is not one of them.
Have a great day. |
