Hello,
Next I did the canopy/windshield. (First, I remembered to glue the seat into the cockpit!) I found that the windshield piece did not match very well with the back of the canopy. Their sequence is to glue the front to the back, then glue the whole assembly onto the fuselage. Instead, after I did some reshaping to the mating edge of the back piece, I glued the back piece to the fuselage. There are no guides for the exact location, so I positioned it such that it came close to the "LIQ OXY" writing, and made sure the forward end covered the edge of that gray triangle printed in front of the cockpit. Then, I glued the windshield piece over the top. Take care, Kurt |

Hello,
I have the wings and landing gear assembled and attached. The wings are supported by a flat cardboard spar that slips through the fuselage. The wings, themselves, are each made of a single piece folded over on itself. This model doesn't actually have wells for the wheels or skids. The skids include a single piece of wire that runs through one of the gray braces, through the fuselage, and inside the other gray brace. I bent the wire per the pattern in the instructions, then dry-fitted things and reworked the wire so it would actually fit my parts. I do not often use wire and don't have tools for a tight bend, so I believe my larger radius threw things off. But overall, The parts came out more symmetrical than I expected (to my relief). Take care, Kurt |

The stabilizers are each one piece, just like the wings. They are supported by a single piece of cardboard, running through the fuselage, which is bent downward. The kit sketches did not show the anhedral, so I estimated the right amount from photos.

The fins went on fairly easily. I then added the remaining small details, and the model is complete.
Best regards, Kurt |

Nice job! Clean looks, nice shine on the skin and certainly a looker.
And I really like the aesthetics of the XLR11 powered X-15. |

Thank you!
It was nice that I could use a wet tissue to wipe my fingerprints off that shiny black skin -- That had me concerned for a short time. Best regards, Kurt |
