Telstar?

Does anyone know if a model of the Telstar satellite has been available? I have the model of the launch vehicle, but don't recall ever seeing a model of the satellite itself.

Thanks! e

Zach's PaperSat Designs website has over 100 spacecraft/Sat and rocket models.

Go here: Spacecrafts Page 1 and scroll down to #27 for Telstar 1.

E. la Groen did one in 2006. 'Don't recall where it was posted. Scale was 1:8.

It was his website, which he closed a few years ago due to copyrights infrigements / piracy of his designs...

I still have the Telstar on my HD, but not shure if it's allowed to share...

Willem,
You hereby have my permission to share.

But remember that the files I once shared, are those of a prototype. Many parts do not fit well, some do not
have the proper proportions.
Telstar has a very difficult shape. It is not nicely round and giving the trapezium parts (with the solar cells )
the correct shape is a nightmare to design.
Designing the model is as great a challenge as building it..........
Trust me on this one.

This may be the reason why there is no decent model of this satellite, yet.

You guys get the finished model. You only have to build it once. But by the time a model is being released I have
built it MANY times...!

Looking at my old files, I noticed I made those drawings in low resolution, 1600 x 1200 pixels. But I think if I adjust
colours and contrast, here and there, an acceptable model can be made.

_______
Erik

PS..... the model is from 2006...... geezzzz.......... time flies.

Oh.... also no instructions, yet.
Ofcourse.

I haven't built a satisfactory model myself, yet.
