After looking at some of my photos — and comparing them with pictures of the real deal — I concluded my XLR-99 motor didn’t look right. There were details missing and some of the colors were wrong. So this morning, I pulled out my tools and made a new one. Sixty-six parts later, I popped off the old motor and glued the new one on.

I love your attention to details. Researching a model is sometimes even more fun then building it.

Yep. I’ve also been fortunate to befriend a couple of X-15 authors who have been generous with their time, insight and research.
