Very nice model! I also like the decisioon to give it a tandem gear. Now for the docking scene from the Out Of The Blue cover: Wasn't it Gary Pilsworth who made a nice model of the ELO flying saucer / mothership?
.. Speaking of the Mothership, Wouldn't it be awesome if the ELO Mothership would meet with Parliament's mothership? (-:

Just read in the news that Richard Tandy, the keyboards player, passed on at the age of 76. No further details provided. Sadly, the end of an era..... Saw a recent picture of him in the news clip together with Jeff Lynne. Jeff, who must be of about the same age, seems to be ageless, but Richard looked like a very old (and perhaps sick) man.

Yes, I read that too. Sad... His voice was in the "Mr. Blue Sky" vocoder bit.
In the meantime I got inspired and I have started the Pilsworth ELO saucer. I changed it a little, though. And I printed two pages per A4 sheet.

I didn't feel it was necessary to start a separate thread since this one is very suitable for it. Sorry if you think otherwise...
Just wanted to share these 3 pictures. Gary Pilsworth's ELO Spacecraft. I tweaked it a little. On the album cover only one docking bay is open, so I created parts to show closed bay doors. I made the photos while it still was drying from the thick clear coat I applied to the 'transparent' parts. It will dry very glossy. I wanted to have it the jukebox feel of the original. You can almost hear: "Open the bay doors, Jeff." Jeff: I'm afraid I can't do that, Bev." (-:

hi armorman,
thank you for your interest. the test build revealed some bugs. i would have to correct them, numbering the parts, create an instruction sheet and so on. maybe i'll do that sometime, maybe the starlight will remain a "one off". anyway you can find the great work from gary pilsworth in the dl-section! greetings wolfgang
