An outstanding, very well written, illustrated film synopsis. Many thanks for taking the time and trouble to write, edit, and illustrate with screen shots this little essay.
You have renewed my interest in early science fiction films and a desire to watch Things to Come again, as well as this film. I first saw Things to Come as a re-run the 1950s and have watched it on television several times since. The airplanes, the moon shot down the long inclined ramp, and the Boss in his horse-drawn touring car are the images that stick in my mind. Incidentally, when asked what kinds of films she likes, my wife answered, "The ones with subtitles." Don |

Hi All,
As a public service to those who have been patiently waiting for Wulf 111’s Large Scale USS Excelsior, I can offer a smaller version of a similarly named, but entirely different, spacecraft named Excelsior. Just click here to see my thread on one of the oldest fictional spacecraft in film history: 1918 Spaceship Excelsior I hope this tides you over until the conclusion of Wulf’s long-term project. Happy Thanksgiving, and here’s hoping we all sleep well under the Aurora Borealis tonight. Score and fold, Thumb Dog |
