NASA Crawler Transporter 1:87 - Apollonia/TVC-15

Here's the start of a new big project - the Saturn V moon rocket on it's mobile launcher platform, complete with LUT (Launch Umbilical Tower) and the crawler transporter that was used to transport the whole assembly from the Vehicle Assembly Building to Launch Complex 39 at Kennedy Space Center. And I'm starting with the CT. This is the Japanese Apollonia/TVC-15 kit, supplied on DVD and printed on A3 200 grams cardstock to 1:87 scale. The kit was published in 2009, so fairly hot off the press.

Yeah, it looks very fine!

I made the free version from Sir Alfonso Moreno, from AXM, and it is a monster in 1:144... I can imagine 1:87!!!

And here's a start. Because the CT will be carrying some weight later on, I'm building the main structure in a rather reinforced way to keep it strong and level.

Fantastic start Marco, what thickness card stock are you laminating the parts too ? Whatever it is, it looks like a very substantial unit, and should withstand the weight by a long chalk. Nice
