despite a beginning cold

managed to do a little bit today
BUT i just found out one thing :(
in my mind i thout that since i made everything bigger, then the bottom plate also had to be made bigger i.e. thicker
what i didn't think of was that the strips at the bottom also were bigger, and if they are set to match up the bottom in original size, they will do the same even if bigger
so i will have to reprint the two bottom parts again, and glue them onto thin cardboard, the good thing is that now i got two plates i can use on the top part instead
slow progress but slow makes good i have heard :D

Impressive as ever, I wonder if Greelt is following this thread.
Just offering a possibly helpful suggestion.
As the base is a weight bearing surface if you plan to have the model free standing, I'm not sure if going with thinner cardboard is the best plan. On my build I put the base circle on 3mm corrugated, and adapted parts 4 to 7 to fit.
Also it might be an idea to use 5 cylinders between the cardboard circles, ie Part No. 10, each located above the F-1 contact points.
I have also found that Greelts Base for this model supports the model very efficiently, without any load on those ohso delicate f1s' though if you do make the base, watch out for the pipework, as I found a fault which required an almost complete rework.
However, as I say this is just friendly advice, I couldn't possibly be critical of anyone who jumped into this project before me!

too big for me to have it upright
