POTM FOR 2022 June - “P-47 Maj Mac”, built by OrdinarySpaceNerd.

Hello Members:

Here is the selection for “June Picture Of The Month”, this time from “The Design Threads” category.
It is a build of a “P-47 Maj Mac“, built by OrdinarySpaceNerd.

The project can be seen here:

P-47 "Maj Mac" Photoshoot Build / "Test" Build

Note: See Airdave's post today 12:31pm.
This was originally a test-build of one of Airdave's kits, but was not finished that way.

This is an inappropriate choice for the picture of the month. The only thing that is accomplished here, is rewarding bad behavior. AirDave sent OrdinarySpaceNerd the kit for a test build, in payment AirDave was to receive photos he can use to promote his kit. OrdinarySpaceNerd elected not to fulfill his obligations, but to do his own version of the kit first. As the base of this model is AirDave’s kit, the finished model is not, and should not be prompted as such.

Thank you Runkle for the information.
Before I make any changes, let me investigate.
This may take some time.

I appreciate Runkle's comments and support.

No, this arrangement with OSN did not go as planned (for me).
But I wouldn't call OSN's actions 'bad behaviour'
...I don't think there was any deliberate effort to not complete the proper build for me.

And I think that issue is done and gone...we can all move on.
We don't need to flog this horse, or make OSN feel any worse.
OSN has apologized to me in private and promised to do another build at some point.
So I am waiting on that.

I do think there are probably better choices for the POTM, since this build has had its controversy
and is not what I would call an "outstanding" build.
There are a few errors, which I have already pointed out to OSN,
and he has acknowledged with full respect to me.

Its not my POTM...to decide whether it stays or not.
This is Ordinary Space Nerd's honor, and everyone deserves their 15 minutes of fame, right?
I've had mine.

I think it would be prudent to make a change in my POTM choice for June.
The builder’s work with this P-47 is excellent. However, it became a controversial choice.
Details may be seen in the previous posts.

Further comments on this thread are welcome. As I said, the builder’s skills are very good.

Regards,
Mike

Not to push, but I'd love to see something by Kevin Wilson Smith.
This month, next month, whenever.

Regardless of the discussion, the build (and design) remains great with a nice capture of the shiny metal surface.

I do believe that OrdinarySpaceNerd had no ill intent. He also created a nice model, smooth, seamed well, and shows out of the box thinking with the use of material and added detail.

I wouldn’t call OSN’s actions bad behavior either, just bad choices. “Rewarding bad behavior” is a term, once you take it apart it looses all meaning. As far as the horse goes, there is no intent on my part to make OSN feel any worse, and it is necessary to discuss why the horse died, because at some point I would have to explain, why I thought the use of this model for picture of the month was inappropriate.

I don’t say much around here, but when I do...
