Il-76

Well, might as well jump in the deep end with this one.

Anyone know of good 3D views (with dimensions if possible) of the IL-76

Love those Russian birds!

In this russian site there's information about the plane,
and two links to a couple of 3-views (both indicating
different dimensions - two variants of the plane?)

The site:
:: -76

This are the direct links to the images:
http://www.uacrussia.ru/common/img/u...heme_3view.png
http://www.uacrussia.ru/common/img/u...heme_3view.png
Apparently the dimensions are given in centimeters.

Sadly, they're very general layouts, not too detailed
and only indicate the main dimensions.
But I hope it's useful for you.

Edit:
Just found another image. also with general measures,
but this one has a cross-section of the fuselage,
and also shows the internal layout:
Ilyushin IL76 Freighter Aircraft

Another internal, with some measures:
http://www.unitag.co.il/upload/il-76.gif (from: IL-76 )

also: Aircrafts Specifications - Samarkand airways

2nd edit:
another 3-view indicating the angle of the leading edge:
-76. .

And a beautiful cutout:

(from 76 )

Just an update.

I am currently building the Canon Boeing 747 as an test/idea generator for how the IL-76 might come together (some significant differences between the two I know but it's given me an insight into how large aircraft models come together).

I hope you built it in Samarkand Airways markings, just because of the wonderfully evocative name.

Sweet to ride forth at evening from the wells
When shadows pass gigantic on the sand,
And softly through the silence beat the bells
Along the Golden Road to Samarkand.

Nice one

When it's done, I'm sure it will come in a variety of different markings.

Almost certainly a Mainstay variant will be created as well when it is eventually done

747 test build is coming together quite well, photos one day
