B2nT Freudenstein
Here is my next project: Modelik's Bn2T Freudenstein. I thought this would be a good large scale (1/25) steam locomotive to start with.
I laminated the necessary parts last night. I'll begin the frame shortly. Enjoy Greg |

Hi Greg,
Great! I've been wanting to build that one someday too, so I'll be keeping an eye on your progress. Cheers, Corbin |

Here is my first night's work on the frame. So far everything fits like it should. I hope this trend continues.

From what I've heard of these Modelik railway kits, everything should fit quite well. Good to see this one getting built!

There are a few minor fit problems but I will warn you well in advance. The frame, wheels and running gear fit well.

Greg, are you going to paint the model? If yes, how do you make the rivets? I am still not quite satisfied with the glue dot method. Too uneven in size.

Sylverbyrd,
I am only planning on painting edges and a few things that bug me, like the exposed metal parts of the wheels. I'm leaving the printed rivets alone. Royaloakmin, Thanks for watching my back . All, Here is the progress after evening #2. The wheels were slightly daunting until I actually started building them. Greg |

You could do rivets, tedious but easy. punch them out of the scrap paper (or red/black paper if you have it) with a 1mm punch. Apply a drop of glue with a pointy thing of choice, then use the same pointy thing to pic up the rivet and apply it. Use your Pitt pens to touch up the color. Repeat many, many times...but you will be please that you did. You can see my build on Kartonbau if you are interested.

After looking at the pick, all of the #14 wheel centers need to be backed with 1mm. I learned this the hard way...

Thanks for the input. I did catch the #14 backing error in time while studying the drawing more.
I'm still not keen on doing the rivets though. Greg |
