Was out looking around and found that RXR's 4-6-2 might be a great foundation for a streamliner? change the rear wheel set to a dbl wheel set with new frame and......maybe a Vanderbuilt, etc.?

PS..RXR..you build and will buy it!!!!!

Thanks OhioMike -

I was thinking the same thing when I saw this post. I originally was going to do a Mallard "skin" mod for the 4-6-2 when I did that one, but never found the time.

When I saw this post I started getting other ideas as well, so we'll see - maybe something coming if I put my mind and some time to it.

Outstanding Mark....the thing is, there were streamliners based on the 4-6-4 hudsons (J3's) and the 4-6-2 pacifics as well. So you might not need to change much as far as the base goes...looking forward to what you build!!!

The pennsy T-1's were duplex 4-4-4-4's. Mark did a 4-8-8-4 but no 4-4-4-4. Hey, cut off 8 wheels, it might work!!! I for one hated the shark nose though! You could do a Hiawatha as well, they initially were an odd 4-4-2 set up but than many had the 4-6-0 set up. Just subtract 2 wheels from your 4-6-2?

comparisons of available product

The questions is...how hard is it to get from here to here? Especially when you start here?

Wow... Now I have something ELSE I'm going to have to make a model of.

I have a Precision Scale HO Scale L1 Chesapeake and Ohio brass engine that I love. Now I need to make one out of paper, after seeing these.
