Clever Gorre Engine House & Radio Shop Mods
I'm building the Clever Models version of John Allen's engine house at Gorre.
Miniature Architecture Blog: Gorre Engine House in N Scale, Part II I'm also modifying their Rudy's Printing into "Don's Radio Shop" in tribute to my recently departed friend, KPFA DJ Don Joyce. Added a ghost sign and modified one of the signs in front of the store. Miniature Architecture Blog: Goodbye to a friend... More on Don here. Those of us who love radio as an art form will really miss him. Don Joyce, Negativland Sound Collagist and Radio DJ, Dead at 71 | Rolling Stone |

Thanks for the heads up on your new posts.
I always enjoy your blog! Found the "glue loops" his time around. Going to try and make something similar......!

Wonderful stuff, speaking as one who worked the Andrews Branch on the Gorre & Daphetid 1971-72 (and watched Emma the Organic Engine at work) and who remembers vividly Bendix, Crosley, and the 1950s Pepsi commercials ("Pepsi-Cola hits the spot / Twelve full ounces, that's a lot / Twice as much for your nickel, too! / Pepsi-Cola is the drink for you!").

I'm workin' on it! A fella's gotta sleep sometimes!
I have a bunch of models in the pipeline, because I'm getting ready to exhibit at the PDX Mini MakerFaire in September, and I always like to have new items when I go there. Usually I complete one or two very complex models in N scale, then I prep a whole bunch of simple village buildings in N, which I assemble while I'm there. |

They come in three sizes in a pack of 9, so I sent three to a very, very fussy, old-school HO-train-builder pal, and even he thought they were great. |

The "Glue Looper" is an etched metal doo-dad that fits in an X-Acto handle, has a loop-shaped hole on the business end, and which allows you to apply tiny amounts of cyanoacrylate glue or low-viscosity model cement by capillary action.
A lot of modelers use a loop made out of thin wire, and I've done that too, with mixed results. The Glue Looper is the fancier version of that trick, and it works quite a lot better. THE GLUE LOOPER Micro-Glue Applicator |

I just can't afford them from here with the poor exchange rate and high cost of postage.....
If I lived in the States another story........!

That is what I use. Seems to work OK. I use the eye side.

Didn't know he had passed. Always tried to listen to his show when I was in the Bay Area. Was just listening to some Negativland a few days ago.
