I am starting a series of Z scale (1/220) armored trains to expand my collection.

First of all, a German BR 57 locomotive in 2 colors. the starting point is a 1/87 pdf file from the Bestpapermodels brand purchased online on their site which unfortunately no longer exists.

First step, reduction of the sheets from 1/87 to 1/220, printing on 150gr/m2 coated paper, spray of satin acrylic varnish over the print to protect it. I start with the tender.

An impressive collection. One day perhaps I would like to create something like this consisting of British locomotives and passenger cars.
Owing to the angular nature of the armoured vehicles, these all seem like they would not be too hard to design in CAD. Of course it would also require painting the textures.

Wonderful! I love especially the idea to put the paper model on the rolling chassis, but they are great even if not functional/movable.

Thank you very much.

Note how the interior is reinforced by glued cardboard whose dimensions are given using an additional black and white copy of the sheet.

By printing the sheet twice, you can cut out the small details to build a 3D effect by sticking them on the model.

The locomotive can therefore be presented static with the paper parts provided:

or functional thanks to a Rokuhan Shorty engine chassis integrated into the hull, removable and held in place by internal cardboard self made templates. The BB configuration is not visible and does not stand out thanks to the shielding which goes very low.

The German armored locomotive BR57 in "Balkans" camouflage perfectly functional in Z scale:

1:220 (Z scale) functional model (Rokuhan engine chassis, Märklin wagon chassis) based on GPM's 1:87 printed static paper model (HO scale) of the Polish PP-20 General Dowbor armored train.
Built in Russia in 1915, this train was captured by the Bolsheviks during the revolution, then by the Ukrainians and finally by the Poles, who turned it over to the Russians in the early 1920s.
After much fighting, it was surrounded and heavily damaged in 1921. The crew surrendered and the train's Polish officers were immediately shot by the Russians!
The modified and refurbished wagons were used until the Second World War.
