answer EU07 electric loco 1:25

Answer's EU07 1:25 scale electric loco.

this loco to based on an English loco and I liked the look of it and was on offer with laser sets.
on the downside, there are no written instructions and no drawings for the bogie cross hangers, and the wire templates. some has posted a link to the drawings on a build over on kornradus have just tried it but its not working. i used this site for useful info on the loco TRANSPORT SZYNOWY - Niezależna strona informacyjna.
i am adding extras to the model while there is some detail to the cabs some things are mist out like heaters and sandboxes and some electric boxes behind the driver's seat. also, it does not look right to me to have visible cabs and printed side windows and vents so will open these up a make up some internal detail where visible. i will also add some more detail to the bogies and add the hand brake linkages. but that enuff blurb when you really want to see pics.

i have finished this now but I started it as a break from the Sherman build and it did sit around for a year before restarting and the post will follow the photo dates. I am still resizing the photos on 120 at the moment.

i started with the wheels and made the clutch mechanism more realistic.

punching holes in the wheel backs

adding detail to the arms.

and adding oval discs to the backs to cover the punched holes.

clutch arms in place

that it for the wheels for now. the next post will move onto the start of the loco body.

Thanks rifleman.

Moving onto the floor and cabs.

in the intro yesterday I forgot to mention that this loco is going to be part of I diorama with answer's A111 passenger coach and the ADW culvert bridge.

also, I am putting in led lights to the loco and on to the coach.

the base of the loco body.

the side skins with windows and vents cut out with the adapted skeleton pieces

inside and outside of the cab backs.

working out the internal formers to make an interior

building up the cab floors.

I have made the side walls 3 mm thick instead of the 2mm to give strength and all to give depth to the vents. the bottom side is showing the outside face and the top the inside. I plan to fix grey card over the vent opening on the inside and fix some laser cut black mesh to the outside of the openings. at the top, you can see the skins fixed on the outer layer of the skeleton card.

building up the cab control console.

scratch building the sandboxes.

and some bulkhead electric boxes two for the A cab and one for the B cab.

i had to extend the sandboxes and some scratch heaters one behind the driver's seat and the others to go one to the side and one in the footwell.

cut out the footwells to the consoles.

console exsererys.

building up the console.

both ends done and hand brake wheels added to the back blukeheads.

first, answer gremlin only two seats when four are needed. luckily I had brought their ET22 but did not like it be for I got the EU07. so I used the seats from the ET22.

cutting out the outer stone guard from 0.8mm black laser-cut square mesh.

then glued to the back of the skins.

that's it for now.

I moved on to the bogies started with the frames made some spacers to go between the skeleton frames. putting the top and bottom skins was not straightforward cut them into smaller sections.

frames done.

traction motor parts. one side pice was missing.

added mounts for the air cooling ducks.

the reduction gear casing.

mounting brackets built up the front square fixing blocks so they are solid.

motor assembly fixed together.

that's all for now

Two Ways to look at that;

1.) For a locomotive which is 1/25 scale yet not huge, and is actually fairly simple, look up what the model railway scale and gauge combination of Gn15 is.
(hint, there is a gn15 forum named Gnatterbox where searching for printy might find paper/card models & there is also this short thread on here,
A couple of GN15 paper models )

2.) If the goal is to do 1/25 scale and go for huge, here's a candidate,
