Thanks, David !!
Water gauges Painted and weathered. Starting from small wire pieces together, made the water level gauge (inside), and implemented the cover outside Last edited by Joon Kwon; 06-04-2022 at 01:19 AM. |

Bottom guard, small shelf and a cup
Wanted to cover the wide opening at the bottom of boiler. For the cup, used UV glue for the first time to get the ‘water in the cup’ feeling |

And chairs,
Made chairs different from the original design. Chairs made out of angled steel pieces and woods. The prototype was too long and the box under was too big. Corrected, made, painted, weathered and mounted on the floor using small magnets to have those chairs detachable. |

I have to say . . . This is a great effort to add details. Any modeler that goes the distance needed to put a drinking cup in the cab of their locomotive, deserves a medal of honor.
But wait . . . there is more. The photos continue . . . showing you put water into it!! Marvelous! Last edited by Michael Mash; 06-04-2022 at 01:35 PM. Reason: Revise wording |

Extraordinary detail.
Since you also build ships and trucks, which category is your favorite? Last edited by Michael Mash; 06-12-2022 at 08:37 AM. Reason: Spelling correction |

Personally, military trucks/tanks allow me a lot of room for me to go further weathering. Sailing ships… looks great and satisfying at the end, but rigging was hard part to deal with. And Locomotive (not modern trains), is new area that I’m learning a lot. Adding feeling of used/aged mechanical parts gives me a lot of joy. Learned a lot during Py27, but still learning through many trial and errors in Ty2. -.-; If I ever do locomotive again, I think I can do it better. Overall, the feeling that I can focus on, try and learning something new makes me still cutting papers (although my wife doesn’t agree. She says… a fully grown up guy is sitting on a chair, cutting small pieces of paper for many hours, the results are usually small tiny parts that she can hardly see and, at the end, the guy is silently looking at it with slight smile on the face… ^^;; ). Anyways, Good for mental, makes me calm and patient, and keep myself motivated. The feeling of achievements at the end comes together with it as a bonus. ^^ And I’ll be happy to see (hopefully) my method can be helpful for other fellow paper modelers. Thanks again for your comments as always! Last edited by Joon Kwon; 06-12-2022 at 04:19 PM. |

Hello Joon Kwon: Perhaps I can help. Would it be possible for you to deliver this letter to your wife, on behalf of all of us here at PaperModelers.com? Maybe she will view your work more favorably after she reads our letter. Dear Esteemed Mrs. Kwon, Please know there are many fully grown up guys (and fully grown up girls) here at PaperModelers.com cutting up small pieces of paper. Your husband’s work is very beautiful and we always look forward to his excellent photos. We are aware you need him to work on projects around your home from time to time so we would like to make a very special request: We would be forever in your debt if you do not assign your husband any more projects around your house until after he has finished work with the Ty2, Angraf Locomotive. If however, some kind of emergency were to occur, like an earthquake, asteroid, tsunami or volcano causing serious damage that would require your husband’s assistance, please know the members here at PaperModelers. com will be happy to collect funds to hire contractors to repair your house, so your husband’s work with the Ty2 Angraf Locomotive may continue uninterrupted. Warmest and Kindest Regards, Michael Mash POTM Moderator PaperModelers.com |
