Pirling Prussian P4.1
I have not made any models for a long time, I started again with this Prussian P4.1, a model by Mr Pirling, it has a 4-4-0 wheel arrangement and the Scale is 1:38

It's nice to see again in this forum one of the many great
railroad models of my brother Albrecht Pirling. The P 4.1 is very well built and favorably staged by the good photos. Greetings Adolf Pirling |

Very nice collection.
Seems like you have some catching up to do, Owen, though this one looks really good

Finally, are they still available somewhere in the Web?
The links from '2011 are no longer valid. I found these designs especially valued, as I am a big fan of miniaturizing every model (as well as a big fan of steam locos). The Albrecht Pirling Dampflok series with solid wheels and few similar simplified details look particular useful for easy scaling down.

Viator, some these models were available from a German site Kartonbau but I do not know if they are still operating, perhaps Mr Pirling can direct you, the models I have are from 6 years ago.

To those interested in Albrecht Pirling's cardboard railroad models!
My brother Albrecht Pirling has constructed a large number of models over many years. All in scale 1:38 Many of these wonderful models could be downloaded as free downloads from one of the German forums. But most of them could be bought from Albrecht Pirling. Since some time my brother does not construct and sell his models anymore. He is now almost 93 years old, and his eyesight is very limited. But since some time there is a new possibility to get the models again. In addition I give in the following my statement which I made in the German forum "Die Kartonmodellbauer". I hope that the statement can help you to acquire the models. Greetings Adolf Pirling "Albrecht's legacy on his cardboard model designs For a long time my brother Albrecht had been thinking, if not worrying, what should become of all his constructions once he himself is no longer able to do so. That the many beautiful construction sheets should not disappear into oblivion, was and is certainly very close to his heart. An inquiry of Albrecht to me, which he had already made some years ago, I had to answer negatively already at that time. I am all the more pleased now that Albrecht has found an institution in the AGK, which will ensure that Albrecht's models will continue to be accessible to the public. The collection at the AGK (Arbeitkreis Geschichte des Kartonmmodellbaus) will probably be much larger than my own, although I received almost all of his models as - I call them simply - first editions from him. as a gift or even bought them. Now I can only hope that quite a lot of modelers will make use of the new possibility to acquire Albrecht's cardboard models." |
