Thank You.
I have finished attaching the rails. The next step is to paint "rust" along the rails, then sow grass and plant some flowers

The base is finished.
I had a dilemma what to use: paint/crayons to imitate rust along the rails. I chose crayons and I don't regret it, because I doubt that I would get the same with paints. I didn't have a crayon of the right color so I had to mix three others. I stained the "crushed stone" in the middle part between the sleepers with a very dark brown crayon. I also used the same dark brown crayon over the sleepers in the middle part, and I colored the "crushed stone" on the sides of the track slightly lighter brown. I also planted grass. It was my first time doing it, but it turned out nice. I also planted some flowers. Finally, metalizer on the rails and it's done. Now all that's left to do is a polycarbonate case and some figures.

Gratulacje Sebastian!
This is a great display of craftsmanship . . . and the photography is wonderful. Each phase . . . the locomotive, the flatcar and the railroad base is perfectly executed. This has been such a pleasure to watch, I am almost sad to see it end. Do you have a place where you display your projects when they are finished? Cheers! Mike p.s. Also . . . can you tell us more about your method for creating the grass and flowers growing in the railboad bed? Last edited by Michael Mash; 06-08-2023 at 11:13 AM. Reason: Spelling correction. |

Dziękuję Michael!
About grass and flowers. Necessary things: 1. Wood glue 2. Paint 3. Water 4. Brush 5. Electrostatic grass 6. Grass applicator 7. Flowers The first three items on the list must be mixed in a 1:1:1 ratio (or something like that). You choose the color of the paint to the surface you want to get, I used gray-brown. With this mixture, using a brush, you paint the surface. Preferably in small sections plus a few points. Then, using the applicator, you apply the grass (I bought a cheap applicator made by a private person for ~$12). Elektrostatyczna sadzarka do trawy + trawa | Krakow | Kup teraz na Allegro Lokalnie I used grass from the German company Noch (ref. 08361, "Meadow", 4mm, cost: $3.54 for 20g bag) - I used maybe 20% of this bag for the whole scene. The video in the link below shows how the electrostatic application of grass works. Begrunen wie ein Profi mit dem FALLER Gras-Fix - YouTube Don't forget about the randomly scattered tufts of grass. Such details add realism to our scene. At the end, you glue the flowers that I bought in the Exito store. Flowers are Polish production, Freon company (Freon KW7M, 7-12mm, color mix).
