Px 29 Modelik 1/25

Modelik’s PX 29 is not as old as the Bn2t complete train. It dates to 2005 and shows a good evolution in what regards the assembly drawings. You can check it in the first pictures. The booklet is in A4 format and contains 18 pages with 1717 parts.
The kit’s subject is a narrow track locomotive, complete with the tender. It is interesting because it looks like a large locomotive at a smaller scale. The green/black/red/white color mix makes it eye-catching, too. At least to me…

Hello Ricleite,

I see that right after I posted in your MB-5 thread saying I am eager to see your next build that you have just posted this. I will watch with interest!

Welcome aboard, Gregory I have a lot of models to show but not much time to devote to the forum, unfortunately...

I started with some assemblies for the tender’s bogies.

The tender has 8 spoked wheels. I stood to my usual assembly methods, including the use of a simple jig to glue the spokes.

One of my favorite steam locos! You are right that it looks quite like a normal gauge. And I like the green parts too. Perhaps that's why I like Polish Tkt48 as well as British LNER locomotives too.

@Andrew – right, there is usually a lot of green on LNER locomotives and the Tkt48. Angraf has an excellent kit about the Tkt48. I suspect that the detail level makes it much more time consuming than the average Modelik.
The tender has both longitudinal and transverse suspension. I’ll show the transverse suspension elements later.

The transverse leaf springs complete the tender bogies.

And Ricardo just happily steams on with his next steam locomotive. Impressive work as always and very interesting to follow!

Cheers,
Erik

Thanks, Erik I devote about half of the spare time to planes and the remaining to trains or architecture. The problem with buildings is that they take a lot of space. So, not surprisingly, I’m steaming on…
The upper part of the tender is made up of a solid card box. As the base is curved, I opted to add the rivets after gluing the skin.
