SAR Scratch built loco

Good day all paper modelers, been a while since I posted on the forum but I have been doing a few models in the background.
I want to show my 1:40 scale scratch built South African Railway Class 1 locomotive. I built from a photo and did a few drawings to ascertain some dimensions.
The original loco was built by NBL in 1904 for The Natal Government Railways,
designed by CME D.A.Hendrie it was a 4-8-0 wheel arrangement, no superheaters and Walschaert valvegear. The loco's went into the SAR fleet in 1910 and gave excellent service until withdrawn in 1975, after that a few went into service with some mines and were still working in the 90's.
Thank you
Owen

Wow! IMO making a model from scratch and after a real thing is the top-notch job for the paper modeller!
I like the model and the loco itself. Very fine monument of technology!

Well done, Owen. Scratch-building has always been a mystery for me.

Very nicely done, sir.

I usually design digitally, but I have attempted scratch-building and never came up with anything nearly worth showing.

Congratulations and thanks for letting us look in

Well done. Steam locos are considerably harder to scratch build than diesels and electrics with all the different wheel sizes, rods, and other details.
