Helpful files for railroad paper model developers

Hi folks! Here are a couple of really helpful files for people who develop paper models of American and Canadian railroad locomotives, passenger, and freight rolling stock:
  • Railroad RGB colors: Provides the RGB and hex color values (and samples) of the colors used on many railroads.
  • Passenger car schemes: Provides 20' (N scale) samples of the liveries of many streamline-era passenger trains.

I created these files myself to help me design a series of N-scale passenger train consists. I create the car shell, then add the colors as a background layer.

Enjoy!

Quick note on the RGB Color file: Your printer will almost certainly render the colors differently, based on the type of printer and type of paper you use. You may want to adjust each color accordingly. On the other hand, on your monitor, the colors are pretty accurate.

Also note that the GN colors are exact matches; I got those from the GN Historical Society.

Thank you Hobby Bob;

I am about to go into my winter hibernation with GIMP and a number of RR plans I need to mod or re-color. Hopefully if they meet my impossible (read picky) standards I will share some of the results.

Thanks again!
