Modelik 1-6-2 Bulgar 1:25 Scale

Hi all, this is my interpretation of of the huge Modelik Bulger tank locomotive.
The model is very detailed and this one is pretty much built from the book with a bit of subtle weathering to disquise the enevitable marks on the print surface.
I purchased the laser cut accesspories kit which made things a little easier but this model as still been eight months in the making, the track is also supplied by Modelik. She may not be at the level of some of the recently posted masterpiece loco's but I'm pretty pleased with the result.

Holy cowcatcher, Batman! That is so crisp that pretty much nowhere can you tell what it's made out of. The running gear, whew...

By the way, I'm so used to the American parlance of categorizing it as a 2-12-4, when I saw the "1" up front in the thread title, I clicked curious how a locomotive could have one leading wheel, ha.

Wow, looks like real metal and actually heavy. Also a successful example of a realistic finish without excessive weathering, as if it's used but clean.

The prototype does beg the question of why it was designed as a tank engine. It must have needed an epic curve radius even with articulation on the support wheels.

Guys, thank you for all your kind words.
I really enjoyed building this model so much so that I'm now trying to design my own kit of a british tank engine of the same period. I have chosen a Fowler 2-6-4 tank in LMS livery only becuase I have a book containing scale drawings and lots of photos, I will try to develop the model very much in the style of a Modelik kit & hopefully with the same level of detail. It's still in the early stages but the images show the actual engine type, development drawings and my work in progress 3D model.
I'll keep you posted on progress when time allows. Cheers Tim

This is a very impressive model, Tim. What a monster 18 wheels in a single locomotive!!!
You mention some marks on the print surface, but I can hardly see them. Which is stunning because the kit is “Digital Print”. My only experience with that kind of printing (on a T2D) was awful. So, congratulations twice

Wonderful! As far as I can see there are almost no kits of British types, at least not of the detail and quality of the Polish/German ones, despite the following that heritage railways have in this country. About the only one I know is Paper Trade's A4.
