Hello all, time for another update.

Here's a picture of the forward pilot house ladder, still needs the handrail:

These are the parts and the order of assembly for the pilot house:

Here's how it looks in place:

Next up are more handrails and ladders as well as the masts, radars and lights on the pilot house.

Have a good day.

Hello all, just a quick update of the progress on the pilot house details. In these 2 shots, you can see the some of the lights, the spotlights and radar in place, the 2 boxes are the A/C units:

Here's some views with the fore and aft masts in place:

Just missing the ship's whistles and railing and this section will be done.

Have a good day.

That is looking real good. Nice touches with the little details you are including. All you need now are some lines to make up the tow.

Plan to add 2 cable reels to the aft area and I have a mid-stream refueling barge in the works to go along with the towboat.

Have a good day.

Hello all. Some updates and the final pictures.

The final railings, the life rings I forgot the make and some cable reels to fill out the aft areas:

These are the final pictures of the completed towboat:

A picture of the detales of the deck house and pilot house:

I hope everyone has enjoyed this foray into the world of design. I have and hope to do some more designs. I have started the basics of the refueling barge that will go with this model and hope to show it here as well in a new tread. I also plan to do a larger towboat of an older design now that I feel more confident.

Next step is the creation of some basic instructions and finalizing the PDF files.

Have a good day.

Congratulation DavidESP,
This is an excellent piece of work and an unusual subject. I see the beautiful sunny Spanish weather makes for a calm steady hand!

Dear David:
Seeing your pictures of the tug take shape brings back memerories of early morings along the mississippi river looking at the barge traffic tug 3 barges wide and 3 or 4 barges long going through the mist. Middle 1970's doing archaeology then.
Thanks, I want to make the tug
MILES
