1/86 U.S.S Ohio first build.

Ok, so I finalized the design of the Ohio 1/44 model, and as a test I'm going to build it half size first, I laid the parts out at half the scale in Pepa, still came out to 88 pages.

Im offering the files here as well for anyone else who wants to give it a try (Richkat? lol) Just PM me and Ill email it, its a 5mb zip, too big to attach.

Remember, 88 pages of Letter size 110lb stock is what I print on, standard wall mart cardstock basically.

Also, if you do print it, its best to print it from adobe, and check the 'Print colors as black' option in the print dialog box.

Time to get started cutting...

Why not set your printer to print in greytones?

I think you need to check the line opacity under Print options. If it is at 0, the lines are opaque, but if not they could appear as grey lines when you print.

Did you choose HO Scale so you could get model crew members easily? It's a strange scale for a submarine, especially a modern one. You may have to get a boat trailer to display the model on.

LOL,no actually this is just a half scale model of the one I intend to build in 1/44 scale, didnt even think about it being close to HO scale, thats a good thought, when I display it ill have to get some crew for the bridge and such.

Cool, I like the scale and size for that one, should be interesting. You can always get some of the HO scale dock worker and construction worker figures from Woodland Scenics to help populate your ship.

I feel I should be a little more descriptive, as several of you have asked for a copy. This is my first beta version essentially, I finally finished laying out the parts completely, and figured id release it. I have not built it in its entirety yet, and as such, it may have issues that I dont know about.

There are no instructions included, however I am including the pdo files for anyone who wants or needs them.

Just didnt want you to get your hopes up and expect a complete, finished kit, with instructions and all.

Thanks,
Ted
