Next stage
I should have said before the ship is HMAS Vendetta.
Daring class is a little bit shorter than Spruance. Not much to say except it's waterline or full hull. |

You really don't let any grass grow under your keel! Nice progress. I'll have to try one of those full hull thingies someday. Well, maybe.

Barry, your skill just keeps on developing. This is really looking good.

Wow! Fast work, Barry! That's a very pretty hull shape.
Vendetta proceeds with a vengeance! Don |

Keel plates
Usual slap happy keel overlap and glue only the sides and the leading edge of the plate. Sand down the leading edges of the plates. If it goes wrong paint it. Seems to have avoided the starved dog look.

Keel cont
This one decided to be a bit of a sod or in reality I got the overlaps wrong and wasted a lot of card. Doesn't look too bad.

Definitely NOT "too bad." Looks very smooth. A somewhat wider beam than I had thought -- the bottom view looks almost like an upturned skiff. You learn a lot when you see these ships in three dimensions and from various angles.

Oh, keep it up, Don. I said that I'd think about it.
It is neat to see these shots while you work on this Barry. Looking forward to more. Carl |
