A picture of the repainted railings. They need another coat and repair in a couple of spots on the sides.

I put the aft bridge together. It still needs a low circular top before putting in the main top. Also it needs some painting for the ports in the curved section.

I also added some railings to the main bridge.

Looking good, Carl! Nice job on the railings (one thing I always shy away from!).

Obstacles to model designing...

This is what I came back to after a strenuous walk.

At least they weren't playing with the Massena like it was a mouse!

There is one of the little angels that DOES get his nose into my models. I've kept him off of the Masséna so far though.

A little more work done. I've put some deck structures on and added to the aft bridge. There is a little more railing and paint work to be done there. The two tops are only set in place still. Possibly ventilators tomorrow!

You are certainly capturing the strangeness that was French naval architecture of that period. Actually, just about all the warships of the wood/iron, sail/steam, smoothbore/rifled transition period are interesting in their own right because of the innovations being tried. As said before, a beautiful presentation of an unusual subject. I continue to follow your designs/builds with great interest.

Nothing special here... just some of the ventilators (or whatever you call them) going in. Still several tiny ones left to stick in.
