Michael at GreMir models has some very nice WWII models in electronic format that you can print out in smaller scale if you like.

So, I'm assuming there are not as many WW2 ships as there are planes and tanks?

Thanks

No, there are scads of WW2 ships (and every other war, including the Punic) available...however, most of them are larger scales...1/400, 1/300, 1/250, 1/200, 1/100, and even 1/72. A popular publishing house for 1/400 kits is JSC...I think papermodelstore still carries some of them. GPM, Modelik, Orel, Flymodel, Halenski to mention a few all carry WW2 vintage ships. To get down to wargaming scales, though, 'tis true that very very few kits are around.

Thanks Darwin

Can these not be "scaled down" like the plane models?

Yes, they can be scaled down but, some of the parts may have to be left out due to size. At game size a lot of details will be unbuildable (sp) but at that scale this will not be noticeable.
