Problem with that would be the slight curve of the bow, Allen. It isn't too bad though. My Shimakaze has an even bigger gap than the de Ruyter. The extreme angle of the photo makes it a lot worse then it looks too.
I fitted the anchors and the small splashplate (not sure what it is called...) on the bow today. Still working on the armor belts, one side is nearly done.

You right. I was thinking cutting up the bow into horizontal sections to make that cure. But for that small scale will be way to much work.

Finished the armour belts without trouble, save for me cutting off too much from the extra length...
Then I started on the armoured bridge tower. Glazed the portholes and bridge windows and coloured the inside of the bridge dark grey. Also, I think I am improving on my photography skills, as I followed a macro-photography workshop last week. Got a bit more depth of field in the shots now.

You're doing a GREAT job with this. I've built the plain gray 1/250 De Ruyter, and it's not easy to make it look as good as you're doing! Nice work!

It does have a few more parts then the grey version already. For example, the two boxes that go on either side of the main tower are numbered 95 in the camo kit, but 86 in the grey one. I am not as good as some on this forum though... I do hope i can get the laser cuttings for this ship somewhere at a reasonable price. The ladders on the side of the main tower look better on Mainpirat's build.
On my build, i glued the tower to the hull and added the first and second floor and railings. Those were nasty...

Fine work so far. The inset anchors look very good.

Yeah, i'm glad i looked at old photo's/drawings to see how they look in real life. They could even be more advanced/detailed though. But that would be a murder to cut out and assemble!

Hello Legion
I bought the same glue , even from the same shop, just to test it, what's your opinion? |

Erm, which of the 3 glue bottles are you refering to? The UHU, Bison universal or the Bison Wood glue? Of the 3, i use the universal glue the least. It dries up way faster than the UHU glue (but damn, does it ever stick things together!), the wood glue is most used for gluing parts that are tiny, or where UHU would leave strings/smears. UHU is just a very good alrounder (doesn't dry fast when used as a drop, or when applied thinly, you have some correction time), but it does leave smears and strings. Using the twist nozzle is just good for making more of a mess. The Bison universal is comparable to school glue, but slightly more potent.
On a different note, is there a model available of a 1942ish freighter/convoy ship (preferable Japanese) in 1/250 scale? Thinking of setting up a diorama with the freighter being boarded by the De Ruyter.
