USS North Carolina ??

I have been looking for a paper model of the USS North Carolina with no luck. I cannot think of a better place to ask if anyone knows of a paper model kit or download. Is there one avaliable? Thanks in advance.

If you want a bit smaller model, check out JSC kit number 012. I believe I saw a copy of it in Orlik's inventory.

excellent! I sent you an email Bob.

I stated that I could not find a kit of the North Carolina.
I was not aware of the JSC kit.

Looks like the same kit from both sites?
And I have heard good things about ordering from GPM (which appears to be the cheapest).

I did find a kit by Modelcard...of the USS Washington.
(Apparently the Washington is the other North Carolina class ship)

The Washington and North Carolina are indeed sister ships. The JSC model is very nicely printed. I cannot comment on the fit of this model, but would guess that it is good based on all the other JSC ships I have built.

They are the same kit...should have actually opened the GPM link before composing the reply. Actually, Orlik has the cheaper price for the model. At current exchange rate, 21 Zl is about $6.60. I can't say anything about comparative postage, as in the past I have never been able to get GPM to reply to me concerning my inquiries on how to make a purchase from them. My experience with Orlik is that their airmail shipping costs runs about 20% of the merchandise costs, and delivery time to Idaho averages about 10 days from payment.

Bob,
I would go with Orlik. GPM has a funny way of calculating shipping - I heard that they actually adjust the price, but the one quoted might give you heart attack

I apologize...that is exactly what I meant to say.
I had difficulties in the past trying to order something from the GPM site.
Seems to be a language barrier.
It took many lost emails before I finally got an order straightened out.

I have read in other threads that dealing with Orlik was easier.

I'm sorry, I typed GPM instead of Orlik and messed up that post.

I usually buy from GPM they prefer paypal, the transactions are smooth but they nearly always over quote on shipping costs, followed a day later with a refund e mail,I've had the same results dealing with WAK I believe it has to do with sales tax, other than that, delivery has been 100% reliable, about 2 weeks to deliver to OZ.
Cheers Col
