I forgot to mention the built of four boats as well as the boat cranes. The straps are made of strips of adhesive tape.

A lot of thinking about the construction of the antenna for the SP radar, a parabolic spider web, was spent.

Finally I took thin plastic rods ( heated and then stretched plastic waste of plastic models ) pulled them across my thumb nail and then fixed them within a template. I formed loops of various diameter out of strands taken from a cable. These were glued into the "bowl" accordingly and the ends cut.
The big mattress antenna of the SK radar was taken from the GPM Saratoga etch set.

Last week I haven`t been at the pharmacy ,so, as all the files are on the hard drive at the PC there, I couldn`t post any pictures.

The next things to do were the gun directors for the AA guns. As the parts delivered are very simple I pimped them by using a mix of different materials, plastic tubes, florist`s wire e.c..

Two loop antennas were made from florist`s wire.

Then the anchor chains were added. Also I started with the railings, standard photo etched parts.

Outstanding, Hans! You also provide a lot of very useful information on how to improve the kit-provided parts.

This is really impressive. Also, I like those anchor chains, where did you get them?

Very nice work Hans. I like to use the small scale chains as well. They really look nice when mounted.

Jim, I can give the name of a supplier that I use. I'll get back to you with an answer on this thread. It's a model RR supplier. The chain is weathered and looks very realistic.

Hi Jim, Hi eibwarrior,

I aquired the chains from a seller of RC-products in Germany. I attach the front side of the catalogue.

Next slave labor is melded: serial production of 44 life rafts.
I took tin solder which was formed around a template, the bulges are adhesive tape stripes, the bottom a fitted photo etched grid.

Next thing: serial production of 40! 20mm single Oerlikon AAs.
Mainly I used the photo etched parts by GPM.
For better handling I fixed the guns with liquid masking tape on a cardboard strip.
After completion I used an airbrush for painting.
Took me about three weeks to complete both life rafts and Oerlikons.
