USS Lehigh 1863, and tug 1/250 Magnus Mörck

Greetings to everyone!

This is a free download ship, the Passaic class.

The Boat:
The acclaimed performance of the Monitor called for more ships, resulting in John Ericsson´s Passaic in late 1862. It was
a working concept, on the weak side to confront shoreline batteries, but never defeated in naval battle. Only mines and
stormy wheather could bring them down. The first Monitor lacked sweeping lines, but these later vessels had a more adequate
design. Commissioned in april 1864, the monitor Lehigh was 200 by 46 ft, with a speed of 7 knots. The steam tug Clyde, a
typical vessel of the Civil War, was busy pulling barges of supplies, but also appeared in action to help the gunboats that had
been hit and to pick up sailors out of the water. Some of them were armed with spar torpedos, making them fighting tugs.
The propeller tug was a more modern concept than the side wheelers, still popular. The two images have been downloaded
from the National Archives of the United States and are in the free domain.

Hello Joe,

On the other day I purchased from HMV a monitor of the same period as you are building.
As this type of ship is new to me, your build report will be of great help to me.
I look forward to your progress.

Yu

Thank you, Mike, Marco, Papercut, Don comment!
Yu look forward to the construction, I hope my pictures inspire me!
The deck windows (plastic packaging) are realistic.
The turret complicated for me (the roof can be removed).
I have the body dry brush, and graphite pencil (8B)
Now take the building:
Cheers!

The bow on shot is just sinister looking, could you just picture this coming @ you, dark, low and deadly.
