Wow, I can't believe this project is now at an end...it was an wonderful treat to watch your build at each step of construction, not to mention the wonderful lessons on history and model building techniques, all accompanied with beautiful photographs throughout...a masterful job all around.

Thanks for sharing your build with all of us, I for one enjoyed it immensely!

Cheers!
Jim

Thanks Jeff, Don, Jim, Andrew and Dieter for your comments.
It's great to know you enjoyed the project.
The availability of so many excellent old photos added appeal to my updates.
It was a lot of fun.
Mike

Congratulations on a fine model. It's been a pleasure to follow this build.
I've had a Digital Navy Oregon in layup for a decade that may yet be completed
now. Thanks for the inspiration. Also a fine exposition of Carl's kit! I will have to
add this one to the collection.
I did notice one small anomaly; while the ensign at the stern is the correct 45 star
flag for the era, the 50 star jack at the bow has anticipated the future by 62 years!
Might want to rehoist that jack to match, if only for historical accuracy.

regards,
Jeff Cwiok

This beautiful build has become a sort of "friend". I'm sorry to see it come to an end.
Mike's work on this is just tremendous. And the build thread has been a joy and so educational build-wise and history-wise.

Well, I'd say you'll need a long rest after this one, but I look forward to whatever, whenever, you tackle next.

Congratulation on the museum quality build!

Joe

Thank you Jeff.
Certainly would like to see that Oregon if you re-start the project.
Regarding the anomoly: I must confess, I never took the time to count all the stars on that bow flag.
Regards,
Mike

Thanks Joe.
First, in my home, I have a small plumbing project and a small carpentry project. Then I'll begin the next ship.
Regards,
Mike
