What a wonderful little boat. Nice history lesson, too.

Completed my build of USCGC Lilac.
I had no problem but would make a few suggestions for your consideration: 1) If model is for children, making the glue tabs a little bigger. 2) Adding a information link on the insturctions to a basic card model building site. 3) I did have a little trouble cutting out the davits due to their small size, children might also. Hope this information helps & thanks again for allowing me to beta build the model. Good luck with the opening of the vessel in October. Rich |

No problem at all - I love the build! Thanks for the tips as well. I'll try to incorporate them sometime over this weekend, and maybe re-upload the model sometime later this week.

Thanks! I downloaded this earlier today on the Deviant site. I hx\ve respect for the Coast guard, too. There was a story I read once, took place before WWII when they still used a lot of lifeboats, the kind with oars. this Coastie and a newspaper reporter were out on a dock during a hurricane. Reporter asks how the Coastie can go out in wather like that. Caostie looks at the roprter and says the regualtions say you have to go out, they don't say you have to come back!

What scale is this at, please? I'm trying to get a lunchtime modelling group going at my son's school (he's a teacher there, btw) and this looks a good starter.
