Rick, thanks for the kind words.

The hull building method is the only way I could build them with a minimum of creases. I read about it somewhere on the forum.

A bit of progress...

It's been great to see so many outstanding ship builds on the forum.

I'm almost ready to start the massive tripod mast. Only again I find it interesting to compare Salt Lake City to Suzuya. Once the mast is in place SLC will tower over her Japanese companion!

Hi Russ. I too have been following your build and do like your method of hull plating. I looked for the thread you mentioned with no success. Would it be possible for you to do a tutorial on this process?

Shipyard progress...

Bob, ref: my hull building- I'm not sure I could explain it any more than what I have.

I've been working my way up the masts. The "fighting top" is not glued in place yet, but it's getting close. Being so tall, it's starting to look very fragile! I will probably leave the radar antenna off until the end.

I received my railings and radar antenna from Kartonmodellshop. I've included pictures...they look pretty good. Unfortunately the radar sheet only includes 3 of the 5 antenna that are on the actual model.
