After another grinding the hull was airbrushed by acrylic body spray/surfacer (intended for cars):
For the finish I used again self-adhesive foils.... to be continued.....

We will have to invent a new word to describe the quality of your work. Until then, the only one that comes to mind is INCREDIBLE! Can't wait to see it finished.

Dear Doris,
this is just amazing! One question: For hull planking, do you use straight or courved strips of card? Best regards, Thorsten |

Doris,
Absolutely brilliant beginning! Your work on the cabin floors is simply stunning. I can almost imagine walking on the carpet. It's hard to believe this beautiful ship was the personal 'yacht' of King George II! What inspired you to change your usual scale? I must say your use of 2 layers of 1mm planking worked well. It must be a very solid hull with really smooth contours (hope that's the right word) I can't wait for more! Ron

Another superb ship model. It is fascinating to see how you developed the hull structure. As always, the interior detail is incomparable.

Hello Doris,
Royal Caroline is one of my favorite sailing ships. Did you use 1mm thick card strips for first layer and glued it in vertical direction? Even with only layers she looks beautiful! Yu |

Superb build! Interesting technique to run the first layer of bottom "planking" vertical to capture the shape from just the frames. The additional layers of fore and aft planking look like they (that is, you) did a great job of making a fair hull.
Well done! Yogi |
