There is also a Japanese guy that made small (1:800) ships, he had that modern heli carrier too.

Herky, which is the NIMITZ SMALL SCALE, is it the USS CVN-75 Aircraft Carrier (templates in Japanese)?
I have this doubt, and if not that, what is? |

Hi, Herky! Here are my 3cts:
There was a Schreiber Bogen of the German WWII aircraft carrier "Graf Zeppelin" in 1/200 as well, published in the 1960ies, and reprinted by Thomas Pleiner as a limited edition in 1991. The Ukrainian Dom Bumagi has a IJN WWII aircraft carrier "Kaga" in 1/200 scale, listed at the GPM website as # 1105. And there is a German WWII aircraft carrier project "Weser" in 1/400 listed as JSC Mikroflota series # 401. Kind regards - Papercaptain |

Hello,
I served on several carriers while I was in the Navy, thank you for this list. While its not released yet, maybe late this year or early next year, HMV is working on an extremely detailed USS Enterprise in 1:250. The "Big E" will exceed 4000 parts with a full hull, hanger deck interior and bridge interior. The Airwing is expected separately and will include all aircraft, helos and deck handling gear. |

Hello Herky,
Please forgive this intrusion on your thread. John, no I do not at the moment because the HMV website is undergoing refurbishment. The Big E was mentioned quite prominently in the last few issues of the Club Magazine and they have spoken of it at length at several of the various shows. In 2011 they traveled to the US and escorted by the US Navy took some thousands of pictures documenting all areas of the ship. They have worked extensively to obtain drawings from the yard and other sources to produce the first accurate hull. When I speak to Benjamin in a few days, I will see if I can get any further information. Sorry Herky! Cris |
