Here some pictures of Ashigara, the hull is made exactly to the measurement of Dr Lacroix's Cruiser bible, I also built in the sea boxes in the underwater ship of the hull. Just enjoy the pictures.
I skipped the building of the hull, because it's just a strait forward way of construction. For Ashigara I used MDF for making the frames, as an experiment. Just see for yourself. John. |

Hi all,
Here is a picture how ASHIGARA looks today ! Work is progressing slowly, because I have to figger out every following step of the build, from photographs, drawings etc. how she looked like in 1937. As said it is all scratch build ! John. |

Looking very good. Those old photographs of her worldwide tour are some if not the best ever of IJN ships, and the Myoko class is with a doubt one of the finest looking heavy cruisers. They did set a new standard at the time and proved to tough fighters.
The model will be a gem. |

Hi again.
Started ASHIGARA to detail, starting from stem to stern. This picture shows ASHIGARA's foredeck. More will follow ! John. |

Looks like great detailing . . . particularly that rigging right on the bow.
