Some pictures I would like to show II

Sitting with my son Emiel behind his Mac we created these pictures. First he photographed my paper models under every thinkable angle. Usually I 'invent' a situation and he fairs the images with Photoshop. Sometimes it needs 20 layers to get the job done.
We will probably present more old master seascapes later. Finding skies and waves or a view of Spitsbergen is a lot easier than making pictures with originally old looking landscapes with buildings in it. But they will come too, in due time. I intend to print them poster format on canvas and use them as paintings on the wall.

Some pictures I would like to show II-pinas_en_fluit-kopie.jpg Some pictures I would like to show II-walvisvaart5b-kopie.jpg

A suggestion for fellow builders: I bought a glass showcase at IKEA for 50 Euros and hung it on the wall of my hall. It's a pleasure to look at and the models do not collect any dust.

Some pictures I would like to show II-img_0177.jpg (I don't know why this picture can only be viewed horizontally. Admin?)

In the mean time I am making slow progress with the small fluit (ghost ship), the Storck pinas and a wide ship, of which I will soon show the present state. Due to the surgery on my back I cannot sit for a long time working on the models, so we are progressing much slower than I wish. On the other hand it allows me to think of other projects and plans.

Abhovi,
These are good enough to sell. You seriously should consider going into business with your son and sell these in poster size. You can have them printed at any specialty printing company or office supply store and sell them on Amazon.

Very nicely done. The photos you and your son created give an added dimension to your model making. And it is good to see a picture that is so historically accurate, too.
I am sure your glass case with the models generates a lot of admiring comment. Well done--and compliments to your son for what he has done with your work.

Very nice. I just changed my computer desktop to display your first picture. It will provide me with lots of inspiration.

Thanks!

The reason why some pictures are shown sideways is because the file it self is too large, high pixel count.

There are tweaks one can do to reduce the pixel size.

Are you sure these ships aren't real!!!

Fantastic work. Congratulations to you and your son. These period photos are better than a lot of the ones that I have in all of my ship modeling books I've collected over the years!
