Maly Modelarz made a Long Beach years ago. Don't know if it was ever reprinted or is available legally any where other than someplace like eBay. I used to work with the wife of a Bainbridge crew member, so would like a model myself. The old Aurora pl@$tic one can also be found on eBay sometimes.

Another model of the "Long Beach" is still available from Wilhelmshavener Modellbaubogen (Order number 1275) at Kartonmodelle, Wilhelmshavener Modelle, Papiermodelle, Modellbaubogen - click on "Verlag shop" in the upper left corner)

I've seen the model built by Franz Holzeder (building report at [FERTIG] U.S.S. Long Beach / WHV / 1:250 - Abgeschlossene Bauberichte - Kartonbau.de - Alles rund um Papiermodelle, Kartonmodellbau und Bastelbogen ) and the model looks really good.

Best regards, Woody

Can't find anything about a Maly Modelarz's Long Beach. Are you sure?

I'm fairly sure this has been talked to death elsewhere, but are any of those "archived' models legal to download? If so, then I can finally print and build the repaint I did of it with a clear conscience. Otherwise, it's just been an exercise in repainting. Yeah, the original colors are awful, on that scan at least. I was never sure if it was a bad scan, or if the original really looked like that.

Meanwhile, didn't know about the Wilhelmshaver version. Thanks, Woody.

my understanding of rules on here is you can do what you like with the model so long as you dont post it or share it on this site
