Yes, they will be included with every Etching kit that I produce. That will be none and there is NO prospect at all that Hoche or Inflexible will be released as models.

Beyond that I have had a serious problem with Hoche. I realized after checking photos again - hey, you sci fi people could do this, no wait, there are no photos so you can model how ever you want and pretend to yourselves that you are modelers - that I had modeled the aft structures incorrectly. The top deck needs to be sunk below the walls.

This required redesigning the entire structure and ripping out everything. The ripping out was down carefully with my Excel blade and then I cleaned off all the glue that I could with acetone. Amazing that I can buy like a gallon of this at Walmart for 6 bucks. Don't they use this to make Meth?

The photo show the result of the rebuild after ripping everything apart and rebuilding it.

Amazing work - you can't tell that there was a problem. No wrinkles or jagged edges anywhere. Usually when I try to reconstruct something, I make a mess of it and have to start from the beginning.

Some further work now that the mess has been taken apart and rebuilt.

No signs of "the troubles" and the PE bits really add to the glamour of this curvy beastie.

Amazing. No sign of the repair. I used to use acetone to melt the Duco or Ambroid that I used for the internal frame of circular cross section stick and tissue model fuselages, but never managed to pull off the stunt without a trace. And that was balsa and not paper.

The skill and patience to perform such a feat is one of the things that separates the world model builders like you from we common or garden types.

She looks superb, Carl! I do feel your angst in pulling apart your earlier build efforts, but I hope you feel better about the build knowing you tackled the problem rather than leaving it as is. My long ignored Constitution build has gone through three such episodes, but after each time I felt a bit better knowing the mistakes I made were no longer there.

Clearly, however, this is a more complex build, and it is a far more involved effort designing the model than just building a kit, as I was doing. In addition, you are dealing with many difficult design problems and yet you have tackled and overcome each and every hurdle, producing in turn an extraordinary model, and I do mean EXTRAORDINARY. Keep at it, mate, the effort is obviously worth it.

I would keep at bay any decision about releasing her as a kit, though in the end you obviously already have quite a number of fans looking forward to seeing her available, as do I. We all look forward to seeing your next update!

Cheers!
Jim

Well, I am looking at ways to make a kit more economically viable for me. So it is a possibility. I'm working with Inflexible right now to see how it works out.

This has a lot of complexity going on in the upper works. It almost looks like it has some Mississippi riverboat attributes. Certainly one of the most unusual predreadnaughts of them all. Regarding repairs: Based on the images, we would not know if you had not mentioned it. Skillful work.
