Thanks guys. I've got formers cut out and will have them all glued together by tomorrow night. Photos soon.

Great to see what you are up to after Arizona. Are you going to have two threads, or include both Helena and Indianapolis in this one?
Mike

Hull Taking Shape

Thanks Michael. It's great to be back building.

Yeah, I've been busy building some plastic ships and some other models, but now I'm ready for another good challenge in card/paper. My 1/700 Indy isn't paper, but I think you have a good idea Michael. I'll add in some progress shots in this Helena thread from time to time so you can keep up with my progress on that one too.

I've put the hull formers together, but I haven't attached the deck yet. That's to come next. Then the hull plating. As Padre noted in his Phoenix thread, these laser cut formers are a real jewel. Clean to remove, and fit up with nearly flawless. No modifications needed, at least yet.

I've added a photo at the bottom of the page of my recently completed DD-459 USS Laffey. Thought you'd all like to see what I do when I'm not fiddling with paper.

Thanks guys. Good to hear from you Rick. Hope you've been well.

I attached the deck last night, and I'm now cutting hull strips to put over the frames before attaching hull lower skins. Should have some shots up in the next day or two.

I am well my friend, just have been busy. Have not done too much in paper for awhile, however working on a Pocher rebuild I got off of EBay. Should be posting a thread soon here. Again I am looking forward to the builds of these two for one since Padre is too building.:DRick

You going to post about the Pocher Rick? My dad built the Alfa when I was a kid and had a number of the other ones. I'd like to pick one up one of these days to build if I ever have some extra cash laying around - yeah right lol.
