USS Helena CL-50 - 1/200 Scale
Hello gents!
Time for a new build thread. Padre beat me to the punch, so I'll humbly follow in his footsteps. This is simply an incredible model. Lots and lots of detail. Can't wait to get started cutting. Here's the teaser shots of the laser cut fames, cover and a nice photo of HELENA in 1942. Build shots on the assembled hull formers to follow soon. I'm going to try to build a 1/700 Tamiya USS Indianapolis in parallel with this project, so my progress may not be at light speed. I hope everyone enjoys.

Thanks Padre. I think we'll be leaning on each other a lot during this one. Did you see some of those detailed 40mm and 20mm gun assemblies? WOW!

Oh yeah, gotta luv those 1/200 scale ships.
GPM makes some seriously excellent 20MM Oerlikon and 40MM Bofors mounts, vastly easier than the paper versions. and much more detailed. Looking forward to watching you work your way through this one.
