Superb detail! I like the parquet deck of the charthouse.

Simply spectacular! The ladders are something to behold, I have trouble doing architectural staircases in 1/144th scale let alone in 1/250th. You are most correct Michael that any of us visiting & taking part in this forum "can make anything you want" as you said last month. Keep going and looking forward to see the completion.

When my family found that I wanted to make/buy model kits. My two older brothers took me special for my birthday in 1970 to get an Aurora USS Independence aircraft carrier. Seems that first model is so small compared to your battleship.

Thanks Thomas

Don: Thanks and I have to say: I found a YouTube tour of the U.S.S. Olympia from a tourist filming their walk-through of the ship. I was looking for interior details, particularly what kind of flooring was used. It was very helpful, but the photographer could not hold his camera still as he walked. As the picture veered up and down it actually began to make me seasick. I had to shut off the video half way through.

excellent, she's really looking great. I need to start thinking about making the railings the way you're doing it. Photo etch is getting too expensive these days and a little extra time as you show here can produce fine looking results.

Always love seeing updates to this build.

Mike - what do you use to stiffen the thread for the railings?

Thanks Greg.
The railings are made of paper.
The paper strands are laid out on a template (see photos), then both sides are painted. The paint stiffens the paper and holds the railings together.
